Beginning in Crossville, Tennessee in August 1986, Crossville is well known
for producing its amazingly tough porcelain stone tile. Crossville extended
its manufacturing company and quadrupled its production capacity starting from
10 million square feet in 1987 to 40 million in 2001. While it grew and developed
ground breaking new products, Crossville received well deserved acknowledgment
for its achievements.
Crossville is the principal U.S. maker of porcelain stone and operates the
first capacity exclusively designed to produce large unit porcelain tiles. Crossville
tiles range from 3? X 3? to 18? X 18? and its creation line is one of the most
select and widespread of any tile producer.
The Residential Architects? Brand Specification and Perception Study gave
Crossville in the year 2000, the highest quality rating of any tile manufacturer.
Two years afterwards, Crossville received the Architects Choice for Excellence
(ACE) Award from Architects Magazine as one of the prime tile manufacturers.
